The Hostess With The Mostest
Many thanks to Annie who hosted a wonderful day including dinner at her house on Christmas day! We had appetizers and people visited.

Meanwhile, Carolyn and Katie showed off their matching sweaters. Joe and Lori were not to be out done as they posed with their
Christmas headgear.

We also had a visit from Annie's friend Art. Art brought over homemade tamales and that is where Annie drew the line on the hospitality. We just have to trust her that they are the world's best.
Art also brought his daughter Ashleigh.

Some gifts were exchanged and Annie showed us two unique items she got from friends:

  1. A Teddy Bear Stuffed with Wheat Germ hulls and Lavender. He is called "Toasty Teddy". You microwave him and he keeps you warm for hours.
  2. And, "As seen on T.V." the One minute microwave egg poacher. It is missing one egg cup because Brindly gives gifts he would like to have himself.
    See them both here!

Later, the kitchen was buzzing with activity as a fabulous dinner was prepared. Goody carved the Roast, which was cooked to perfection. As we sat down at the table to eat, we enjoyed a beautiful centerpiece that was sent to Annie by Aunt Mary in Minnesota.

After dinner Tom and John called to wish everyone a merry Christmas while
Carolyn took a nap.

Thanks to Joe for supplying many of the pictures for this segment. And, of course, a special thanks to Annie for a wonderful holiday celebration!

Joe and Lori Defy Gravity!

Joe and Lori have defied gravity this year by trimming their tree on the ceiling! You may be tempted to think this scene is the work of a graphics package, but you would be wrong. This tree is actually hoisted up and
attached to the ceiling! Joe and Lori decorated it upside-down and then worked together to hoist it up to the ceiling and secure it in place. The packages were tacked on to the ceiling after the tree was put into position. This must be what happens when a Structural Engineer has too much time on his hands around the holidays.

Fond Memories of Warmer Days
The Cruz annual summer Pig Roast was a smashing success last August. Here are some pictures taken at the event:

Thanks to all the Cruz family members who made us feel at home, and of course Uncle Ted and Aunt Mary for hosting the Pig Roast.

Carl's Corner
Carl Benson was recently in the local newspaper! It seems His Pirate costume was a big hit in Elmira.

Carl has also been helping out in the kitchen over the holiday period. Check out his
Chefs Hat in this recent photo.
